I remember that a couple of years back I had taken a bass fishing trip to central Florida, and it was great as I got to bring back a ten pound bass which is now hanging on the wall of my living room. As I have told you before I collect bass and have four on my wall out of the ten years that I have been bass fishing. Any my favorite spot to bass fish in Florida has to be the Lake Kissimmee chain.
Me and my buddy had rented a lodge out there, that cost us a lot of money but it was well worth the money that was spent. And we also booked a trip with one of the lakes fishing charters that was out there, and the plan was to wake up at 5am and head down to the docks to get some largemouth bass.
See when you get out on the lake early you get the fish when they are hungry. Not only that there are not many people that want to start bass fishing at 5 in the morning anyway, meaning the in theory the bass are going to be more likely to bite, and they are going to be more hungry than they would say in the middle of the day.
I am glad that we got a head start on everyone because within an hour that we were on the water I had got a ten pound largemouth on the line, and yes I landed it. I would have shot myself in the foot if I didn’t get this one in the boat and on ice. The rest of the day went okay too, we caught about 8 more bass all around a couple of pounds, along with one 6 pounder. So all in all the 150 dollar fishing captain did his job by leading us to the best fishing holes on the lake, so I was very excited about that. So if you are planning a fishing trip to Florida, you may want to look into fishing on Lake Kissimmee. There are several lodges that you can stay in and there are many fishing charters that are available, which I recommend you do if you have the money that is. They also have boat rentals there too if you think that you are skilled or lucky enough to find a bass fishing hole.
Needless to say I was very happy with the results, and unlike most of the bass fishing trips that I have taken in my life this time I got to bring something back that will be with me the rest of my life.
